Lady Gaga and AC/DC’s Brian Johnson Share a Rocking Surprise Duet in Carpool Karaoke Christmas Special

Christmas came early for Lady Gaga — and her fans — as the pop icon returned for a festive Carpool Karaoke special. Hosted by Zane Lowe, who filled in for usual host James Corden, the episode was already packed with holiday cheer when a rock legend joined the party: AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson.

An Epic Surprise
During their joyful drive, Lowe teased Gaga with a surprise gift, pulling over and stepping out of the car. Moments later, Johnson appeared at the driver’s side door, greeting Gaga with his signature charm:

“Hello, my darling. My little Lady Gaga. My little darling.”

The stunned singer could hardly believe her eyes. “Oh, my God,” she exclaimed, as Johnson hopped in to take the wheel.

From there, the two icons delivered an unforgettable rendition of AC/DC’s iconic hit “Highway to Hell”. The duet brought high energy, plenty of laughs, and even a touch of chaos when Johnson, caught up in the moment, took both hands off the steering wheel to clasp hands with Gaga. The pop star panicked and grabbed the wheel, shouting:

“We’re all gonna die!”

Johnson, ever the showman, laughed it off, claiming, “I got it! I’m using my secret weapon.”

A Hidden Connection
The surprises didn’t end with the duet. Lady Gaga revealed a little-known connection to AC/DC, telling Johnson:

“You wanna hear something funny? I was in the ‘Stiff Upper Lip’ video.”

The 2000 music video for AC/DC’s hit “Stiff Upper Lip” featured a then-unknown Gaga in the crowd, though Johnson was completely unaware. Shocked, he replied:

“No you weren’t!”

A Rock ‘n’ Roll Holiday Gift
Lady Gaga’s return to Carpool Karaoke — combined with her electric moment with Brian Johnson — gave fans a perfect mix of holiday joy, nostalgia, and rock-star energy. It’s a reminder that when two music legends come together, anything can happen, including impromptu duets and behind-the-scenes surprises.

As fans eagerly await Gaga’s future performances (including her 2025 Coachella headlining spot), this unexpected Christmas treat will certainly be one to remember.
