Kraft Singles is launching all-new cheese flavors that will take your grilled cheese sandwich or cheeseburger skills up a notch. Last week, Kraft announced it’s launching three new flavors of its Kraft Singles, marking the first time a new flavor has joined its lineup in nearly a decade. According to a press release shared with Food & Wine, the new flavors include Jalapeño, Garlic & Herb, and Caramelized Onion.
“As the top-selling sandwich cheese brand, with one in four American households having Kraft Singles in their refrigerator, fans of the iconic brand can now expand their taste buds with these new additions to the Kraft Singles portfolio,” the brand stated. It added that while you can make anything you want using the slices, it suggests trying them as a ham and cheese panini using the Caramelized Onion Singles, or a steak sandwich with the added punch of Jalapeño Singles, and even a chicken parm with the added flavors of Garlic and Herbs Singles.
But why these flavors? According to Kraft, it’s because you wanted it. “In response to U.S. cheese consumers’ growing interest in exploring new flavors, our research identified that bold profiles like spicy (Jalapeño), garlicky (Garlic & Herb), and savory (Caramelized Onion) have the highest appeal,” a spokesperson for Kraft Heinz shared. “These additions address a current gap in the market, by transforming ordinary sandwiches into culinary delights and solidifying Kraft Singles at the forefront of American cheese innovation.”
As Food & Wine reports, Kraft isn’t shy about getting inventive with its brand. In November of 2023, it launched its first-ever plant-based, boxed mac & cheese, called, what else, NotMac&Cheese. “The Kraft Heinz Not Company creates plant-based versions of fan-favorite foods that taste like the real thing, yet don’t require people to drastically change their eating habits,” Lucho Lopez-May, the CEO of the Kraft Heinz Not Company, shared in a statement at the time.
And in October, the company announced the return of its partnership with Van Leeuwen for yet another limited run of its Mac & Cheese Ice Cream. Though it’s currently out of stock, the flavor is so popular you can bet there will be another limited run in 2024.
As for these new slice flavors, they’re here to stay, and will soon be available in packs of 16 slices starting this month at retailers nationwide.
