In a recent revelation, Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu, the bassist and co-founder of the nu-metal band Korn, disclosed that he has not communicated with his bandmates for the past five years. This admission comes after his initial announcement in June 2021, where he stated he would be taking a hiatus from the band to address personal issues and “bad habits” that had resurfaced over the previous six years.
During his time away from Korn, Fieldy has focused on personal growth and spending quality time with his family. Despite the prolonged silence between him and the band, he expressed hope for reconciliation, stating, “I love those guys. They’re my brothers. I just needed some time to get my head right.”
In Fieldy’s absence, Korn enlisted the talents of Roberto “Ra” Díaz from Suicidal Tendencies to fill in on bass during their tours. The band has continued to produce music and perform, while expressing support for Fieldy’s decision to prioritize his well-being.
Fans remain hopeful for a reunion, as Fieldy hinted at the possibility of rejoining Korn in the future. “Never say never,” he remarked. “When the time is right, and if it’s meant to be, we’ll pick up where we left off.”
