Kim Jones Leaves Dior, Rumored to be Landing at Burberry

Fashion Designer Kim Jones

And so the musical chairs of fashion artistic/creative directors that began last Fall continues in 2025. In the same week where Maison Margiela announced that Glenn Martens would be taking over creative director duties, it was revealed that Kim Jones is exiting his position as Dior’s artistic director of men’s collections after seven years.

As Fashionista reports, in a statement posted to Instagram, Dior expressed its “deepest gratitude” to Jones, who has “greatly contributed to the worldwide influence of the House by creating an inspiring wardrobe that is both classic and contemporary, and connected to some artists of our time.”

According to WWD, the move comes a week after Jones presented Dior’s Fall 2025 menswear collection at Paris Men’s Fashion Week. “It was a true honor to have been able to create my collections within the House of Dior, a symbol of absolute excellence,” Jones said in a statement on Instagram. “I express my deep gratitude to my studio and the ateliers who have accompanied me on this wonderful journey. They have brought my creations to life. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the artists and friends I have met through my collaborations. Lastly, I feel sincere gratitude towards Bernard and Delphine Arnault, who have given me their full support.”

As for where Jones will land next? The rumor mill is abuzz with speculation that he’ll soon be given the top job at Burberry. The British designer has been with Dior since 2018. Until October, he was also artistic director at Fendi, a role he took on after Karl Lagerfeld’s death in 2020. The fact that he has stepped back from both jobs suggests the designer is in a position to announce his next move. 1Granary, a fashion insider Instagram account, posted the news with the caption: “Rumours whisper Burberry.

If Jones does join Burberry, it will mean another reshuffle at the top of the luxury fashion houses. Daniel Lee, Burberry’s chief creative officer, has struggled at the brand since joining from Bottega Veneta in 2022. It has been suggested that he may be moving to Jil Sander, after the departure of joint creative directors Luke and Lucie Meier after their final show in Milan this February.
