The 2025 BET Awards pulled out all the stops to celebrate 25 years of honoring Black excellence in entertainment, and the night was nothing short of monumental.
Dubbed Culture’s Biggest Night, this year’s ceremony highlighted achievements across music, film, television, and sports — with Kendrick Lamar emerging as the dominant force. The rapper, who led with 10 nominations, walked away with five major wins, solidifying his place as a generational voice.
SZA, his Grand National tour partner, also earned major accolades, including Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, proving the duo’s creative partnership is resonating across charts and stages alike.
The competition was fierce with Doechii, Drake, Future, and GloRilla all pulling in six nods each, representing a diverse and dynamic field of artists at the top of their game.
Returning host Kevin Hart kept the energy high with his trademark humor, anchoring a show filled with electrifying performances from icons and rising stars alike. Lil Wayne, Mariah Carey, Snoop Dogg, Jennifer Hudson, and Andra Day were just a few of the names who lit up the stage during the epic five-hour celebration.
As the BET Awards marked a milestone year, it reminded the world why it remains one of the most vital platforms celebrating Black culture.
