Kendrick Lamar Brings the Smoke to Drake’s Backyard with Fiery Toronto Performance

Kendrick Lamar lit up Toronto with a bold statement Thursday night (June 12) as his Grand National Tour made its highly anticipated stop in Drake’s hometown. Fans packed the venue for night one of the two-date run, curious whether Lamar would tiptoe around the ongoing feud — instead, he leaned in hard.

Opening with Euphoria and later unleashing Not Like Us, Kendrick didn’t hold back. The crowd, surprisingly or not, sang along to every bar, including the infamous “A minorrrr” diss that’s become a cultural punchline. The energy was undeniable as fans, many not even local, reveled in the moment.

Social media lit up in the aftermath. While some criticized Lamar for “milking” the beef into the summer of 2025, others saw it as a natural move on a tour supporting the tracks that have redefined hip-hop’s latest saga.

Adding to the intrigue, TDE artist SiR recently claimed his 2024 Toronto show was canceled due to the Kendrick-Drake conflict, suggesting Drake’s business connections in the city played a role.

Whether stunt or statement, Lamar’s performance proved one thing: the rivalry still resonates, and Kendrick isn’t backing down — even in enemy territory.
