Following Kelsea Ballerini’s performance at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on Thursday night in New York City, the country singer shot back at an online troll who hit up her Instagram with a body-shaming comment.
At the show, Ballerini shined in a shimmery golden dress alongside The Chainsmokers, as they performed their catchy collaboration “The Feeling.” However, her dazzling performance did not stop a commenter who felt compelled to urge the singer to “lose some weight.”
“Hi troll. listen. first of all, I’m not a model I’m a singer,” she wrote in an Instagram comment. “Second of all, I’m not responding to this to give you attention because you don’t deserve that, I’m writing because I am a healthy, normal chick which I pride myself on and work had for and want other young girls to see that and know that ‘skinny’ is not always the goal. And for you to think it’s okay to comment on my weight or size is disgusting. I’m going to get a burger now. Bye.”
The 25-year-old country star posted a screenshot of a user’s “lose some weight” comment to her Instagram feed, adding hilarious SpongeBob GIFs and one that appropriately reads: “whatever, I want fries.”
