Kelsea Ballerini Releases New Album Patterns Exploring Personal Growth and Self-Acceptance

Kelsea Ballerini has dropped her fifth full-length studio album, Patterns, out on October 25. This new release follows the Grammy-nominated Rolling Up the Welcome Mat EP and its extended version, Rolling Up the Welcome Mat (For Good), which both received widespread acclaim and reached No. 11 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart.

Album Themes and Notable Tracks

Patterns, spanning 15 tracks, dives deeply into self-reflection and growth, with Ballerini examining the “patterns” that shape her life. She addresses habits that have propelled her forward as well as those that needed adjusting, embracing every facet of her journey thus far. Fans have already heard singles like “Cowboys Cry Too,” a collaboration with Noah Kahan that cracked the top 20 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart, alongside “First Rodeo,” “Two Things,” and “Sorry Mom.”

Describing her new project, Ballerini said, “Patterns is an album about taking inventory of self and life as it is, moving through the things that need changing, and celebrating the wins along the way.” She expressed that the album’s creation involved an intimate “conversation” with co-writers Alysa Vanderheym, Karen Fairchild, Hillary Lindsey, and Jessie Jo Dillon.

Upcoming Performances and Headlining Tour

Ballerini will celebrate her album release with a headlining performance at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on October 29. She recently announced her first arena headlining tour, set to begin January 21 in Grand Rapids, MI, promising fans a lively experience filled with “confetti and costume changes.”
