Country superstar Keith Urban has joined forces with the Tamworth Country Music Festival to launch the Keith Urban Rising Star Scholarship, designed to elevate emerging Australian country musicians into the heart of Nashville’s music industry.
The annually awarded scholarship offers one artist the extraordinary opportunity to travel to Nashville with all expenses covered. The winner will enjoy two days of recording time at Urban’s studio, The Sound, and access to perform, write, and connect with industry professionals in Music City.
Keith Urban, who first rose to fame by performing at Tamworth and winning its Star Maker competition, reflected that “sometimes all a musician needs is an opportunity to be heard or someone to help nurture their talent.” He hopes that the new scholarship will do just that—not only inspiring the recipient, but igniting others as well.
Peter Ross, Executive Manager of the festival, added that collaborating with Urban embodies the festival’s mission of launching careers. Applications for this life-changing opportunity open in January 2026 via the Tamworth Festival’s website.
Keith Urban continues to support talent, whether through mentorship, collaborations, or now, tangible opportunities like this scholarship—ensuring the next generation of country stars has room to shine.
