Keith Urban Cancels Greenville Show Due to Laryngitis, Puts Vocal Recovery First

Keith Urban was forced to cancel his October 16 concert in Greenville, South Carolina, citing a bout of laryngitis as doctors advised him to observe total vocal rest. The performance was part of his High and Alive World Tour.

According to a statement from the Bon Secours Wellness Arena, Urban consulted with Dr. Gaelyn Garrett of the Vanderbilt Voice Center, who recommended the cancellation to prevent further strain on his voice.

In his own message to fans, Urban expressed genuine regret, saying: “Hey Greenville, I’m so SO sorry to have to cancel the show … I know all the logistics it takes to get to a concert … I’m looking forward to getting back there when we can!!!!!”

Despite the setback, the venue confirmed that ticket purchasers via Ticketmaster will receive automatic refunds. Those with third-party tickets will need to contact their seller directly. Dr. Garrett remains optimistic that Urban will recover in time to return to the stage for his October 17 performance in Nashville.

This cancellation comes amid ongoing personal developments, as Urban recently announced his separation from Nicole Kidman after nearly two decades of marriage. The intersection of vocal health and intense public scrutiny underscores the pressures artists face when managing demanding tour schedules and personal lives.
