Katy Perry is choosing vulnerability and gratitude over vitriol. Amid harsh online criticism surrounding her recent Lifetimes Tour and Blue Origin space trip, the pop icon took to Instagram to leave a heartfelt message on a fan page, reassuring her KatyCats that she’s okay and deeply thankful for their support.
“I’m so grateful for you guys,” Perry wrote, reflecting on her bond with fans. “We’re in this beautiful and wild journey together.” She acknowledged the emotional toll of digital attacks, but emphasized her growth and healing: “No one can make you believe something about yourself that you don’t already believe.”
Perry’s comment came in response to a global fan project that celebrated her with a Times Square billboard reading, “You are safe, seen, and celebrated.” She praised the gesture and responded with grace: “When the ‘online’ world tries to make me a human piñata… I send them love.”
Now wrapping her Mexico tour dates, Perry will kick off the U.S. leg in Houston on May 7. Each night, she invites fans onstage to sing with her, calling the moments mutual healing. “I keep looking to the light,” she wrote — a sentiment her fans are echoing back.
