On Wednesday, October 16th, superstar Katy Perry dropped her latest single, “Harleys in Hawaii” and along with it, an island-infused music video.
“You and I-I/ Riding Harleys in Hawaii-ai/ I’m on the back, I’m holding tight/ Want you to take me for a ride, ride/ When I hula-ula, hula/ So good you’ll take me to the jeweler, jeweler, jeweler/ There’s pink and purple in the sky-y, ay/ We’re riding Harleys in Hawaii-ai-ai,” she sings on the track’s winking chorus, while grabbing a karaoke mic at a local tiki bar.
The visual begins with Perry cruising down the song’s proverbial “heart-shaped highway” wearing a fringed motorcycle jacket emblazoned with the psychedelic yin yang logo featured in “Never Really Over.” The project was of course, shot on location in Hawaii.
While the Katy has yet to elease any details on a potential title or release date for her next anticipated album, her follow-up to 2017’s Witness is expected sometime in the near future. “Harleys in Hawaii” serves as Perry’s third single in recent months, following “Never Really Over” and “Small Talk” earlier this year.
