KATSEYE Pulls Out of Olivia Rodrigo’s Daisy Chain Fields Festival After Megan’s Ankle Injury

KATSEYE has pulled out of Olivia Rodrigo’s Daisy Chain Fields festival after member Megan Skiendiel suffered an ankle injury during rehearsals for the group’s upcoming tour.

The global pop group was scheduled to appear at the inaugural festival in Irvine, California, on Saturday, August 29. Megan sprained her ankle during a tour rehearsal and was subsequently evaluated by doctors, who recommended that she stay off the injury and give it time to heal.

The timing makes the cancellation especially difficult for KATSEYE. With the group preparing to head out on tour, protecting Megan’s recovery became the immediate priority rather than risking further injury with another performance.

KATSEYE expressed disappointment about missing the festival and acknowledged fans who had planned to attend. The group had also been enthusiastic about participating because Daisy Chain Fields was designed as more than a traditional day of concerts.

Organized by Olivia Rodrigo, the festival brings together an all-women lineup while supporting organizations that advocate for women and girls. The event features an unusually deep roster of performers spanning generations and genres, including Chappell Roan, Doechii, Mitski, Garbage, Bikini Kill, Sarah McLachlan and Stevie Nicks.

KATSEYE sent its support to Rodrigo as well as the performers, nonprofit groups and volunteers involved in staging the event.

The cancellation adds another complication to an eventful stretch for the group. Sophia Laforteza recently stepped away from performing to focus on her mental health, while Manon Bannerman has also been on hiatus.

Despite the latest setback, KATSEYE is keeping its attention on the road ahead. Megan’s recovery is now the priority as the group works toward returning to the stage for its upcoming tour.

For fans hoping to catch KATSEYE at Daisy Chain Fields, the cancellation is undoubtedly a disappointment. For the group, however, sitting out one major festival could prove to be the smarter move if it means getting Megan healthy enough for the much longer run of performances ahead.
