The Swedish stalwarts of melancholic metal, Katatonia, are primed to cross the Atlantic once again with their early‑2026 North American tour titled “Waking State Of North America 2026”. The trek arrives in support of their latest full‑length, Nightmares as Extensions of the Waking State, which landed in June via Napalm Records.
Kicking off February 5 in Montclair, New Jersey, the tour begins with Katatonia in support of Opeth for a string of dates across the United States and Canada. Immediately following this support run, Katatonia pivot into their own headlining shows beginning February 9 in Pittsburgh, then continuing with a dedicated headline leg from February 27 through March 12, making stops in major markets such as San Francisco, Los Angeles, Austin, Toronto, Montreal and Brooklyn.
Tickets for the headline shows will go on general public sale Friday, November 7 at 10 a.m. local time, with pre‑sales commencing November 4. Jonas Renkse emphasized that this is a special moment for the band: “USA and Canada! On top of our run with Opeth, we’re also bringing our own headline shows to your shores, something you wouldn’t wanna miss. See you all in the parlour of dusk.”
This upcoming North American run presents an opportunity for fans to experience Katatonia in full headline mode—delving into tracks from their new album that explore atmospheric intensity, layered guitars and evocative moods. With the band now firmly established in their later career, this tour underscores their enduring relevance and capacity to evolve while staying rooted in their distinct sound.
