Kanye West took to Instagram to ask Billie Eilish to apologize for her comments at a recent concert in which she stopped her own performance to give a struggling fan an inhaler. Both artists are set to perform as headliners at Coachella 2022.
“Do you need an inhaler? Who needs it? Do we have an inhaler? Can we just grab one? Guys, give it some time. Don’t crowd…We’re taking care of our people, hold on,” she said while calming down her crowd, “I wait for people to be ok until I keep going.”
Many have perceived her comment to be targeted toward Travis Scott and the tragedy that occurred during his performance at the Astroworld Festival late last year.
“Come on Billie we love you. Please apologize to Trav and to the families of the people who lost their lives. No one intended this to happen,” West wrote in all-caps alongside a shared screenshot of Eilish’s comment. “Trav didn’t have any idea of what was happening when he was on stage and was very hurt by what happened, and yes Trav will be with me at Coachella, but now I need Billie to apologize before I perform.”
Not too long after, Eilish commented on West’s post. “Literally never said a thing about Travis. Was just helping a fan,” she wrote.
West didn’t reply to her response, nor have there been any updates regarding his presence at this year’s Coachella festival.
