Recent reports have suggested that Kanye and producer’s former business manager, Thomas St. John, has been unable to contact Kanye as he is attempting to sue him for a breach of contract. St. John told the courtroom during a hearing that he has not had an opportunity to serve Kanye, claiming that their professional relationship goes back to March of this year, when they agreed to keep St. John on a $300,000 monthly retainer as payment to be his business manager as well as the Chief Marketing Officer for all things related to Donda.
The lawsuit states that “[St. John] needed a guarantee that [West] wouldn’t abruptly abandon the commercial relationship, in addition to the financial costs and hazards associated with committing to [West] as client. But Mr. St. John offered to settle for a contract lasting at least 18 months.”
St. John is now looking for $4.5 million in damages that includes payment for the months of July, August, and September as well as payments for the remaining term of the defaulted agreement which was supposed to run through November of 2023.
Plenty of people have been having issues with Kanye as of late, one of those people is his ex Kim Kardashian who stated, “It’s hard, Co-parenting is really fucking hard. I had the best dad, and I had the best memories and the greatest experience and that’s all I want for my kids as long as they can have that, that’s what I would want for them.” She has also been attempting to shield their children from outrage over Kanye’s anti-Semitic remarks adding that, “If they don’t know the things that are being said or what’s happening in the world, why would I ever bring that energy to them, That’s really heavy grown-up shit that they’re not ready to deal with and when they are, we’ll have those conversations.”
