Kacey Musgraves’ Icelandic Adventure: From Cliffs to Northern Lights

Kacey Musgraves’ recent trip to Iceland for her music video shoot turned into an unforgettable saga of battling the elements and unintentionally breaking the law. During her appearance on “The Tonight Show,” Musgraves shared tales from her Icelandic escapade, which was far from the serene getaway she had anticipated. The 35-year-old country star faced hurricane-force winds at the Blue Lagoon, nearly getting “blown off” a cliff while filming “Deeper Well,” a song from her latest album. Even locals found the weather conditions perilously thrilling.

Determined to experience Iceland’s famed natural beauty, Musgraves and her team ventured out in search of the northern lights. Despite the dismal weather and their exhaustive filming schedule, they embarked on a late-night journey led by her dedicated manager, Bobby, in pursuit of the elusive auroras. After hours of driving in the dark and a minor glimpse of what they hoped were the northern lights, their return journey home came with a souvenir – a $10 speeding ticket, complete with a photo, courtesy of Icelandic law enforcement.

Musgraves recounted the experience with humor, highlighting the contrast between the Instagram expectations and the reality of their trip. Despite the challenges, she described the adventure as “really fun” and an experience she’ll “never forget,” emphasizing the spontaneous and unpredictable nature of travel and adventure.
