K.K. Downing: Reflecting on His Best and Most Challenging Albums

K.K. Downing, renowned for his time with Judas Priest, discussed his career’s high and low points in a Classic Rock feature. Downing, now with KK’s Priest, takes pride in his recent work, particularly “Sermons of the Sinner” (2021) and “Sinner Rides Again,” highlighting their embodiment of his musical essence and continuation of his Judas Priest legacy.

Conversely, he pointed to “Point of Entry” (1981) as his most challenging record. Despite its Top 40 success and hit “Heading Out to the Highway,” Downing recalled the pressure from the label for commercial success, leading to a deviation from the band’s typical style.
