Justin Jefferson Becomes NFL’s Highest-Paid Non-QB with New $140 Million Contract Extension

The Minnesota Vikings have locked down their star wide receiver, Justin Jefferson, with a lucrative four-year, $140 million contract extension, as reported by NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero on Monday. The deal includes a staggering $110 million guaranteed, solidifying Jefferson’s status as the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL.

Jefferson shared the exciting news on social media, expressing his joy and gratitude by stating, “the deal I have been waiting for since I was a little kid.” The Vikings soon confirmed the announcement, ending weeks of speculation and rumors about the wide receiver’s future.

The three-time Pro Bowler’s contract not only resets the market for wide receivers but also ensures his place among the elite earners in the league. Jefferson’s new annual salary of $35 million surpasses the recent deals of several other top-tier wideouts, including Detroit’s Amon-Ra St. Brown, Philadelphia’s A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, Miami’s Jaylen Waddle, and Indianapolis’ Michael Pittman.

This extension puts Jefferson’s earnings ahead of San Francisco’s Nick Bosa, making him the highest-paid non-QB in the league. Additionally, the contract includes $89 million fully guaranteed at signing, providing Jefferson with financial security and solidifying his position as a cornerstone of the Vikings’ offense through the 2028 season.

With this deal, the Vikings have ensured that their dynamic playmaker remains a pivotal part of their team, as Jefferson continues to build on his impressive career trajectory and aims to lead Minnesota to greater heights.
