Just in time for Spring, Wendy’s Introduces new Dreamsicle Frosty

Wendy’s is making nostalgia a flavor with their latest Frosty. The fast food chain is introducing their Orange Dreamsicle Frosty inspired by the classic childhood popsicle.

According to USA Today, with the launch of Orange Dreamsicle Frosty on the first day of spring, the chain has now completed offering a flavor for each season. Wendy’s has previously released the Strawberry Frosty for the summer, fall’s Pumpkin Spice Frosty and winter’s Peppermint Frosty.

“The Orange Dreamsicle Frosty is a unique spin on a familiar flavor, packing a spoonful of sweet orange notes combined with the classic smooth vanilla Frosty for a dreamy orange cream experience,” a company spokesperson shared with Nation’s Restaurant News. “The eye-catching orange color of this delectable treat was inspired by the spring season, and it tastes just as good as it looks.”

As Food & Wine reports, the flavor wasn’t only inspired just by the treats of our youth. John Li, the Global VP of culinary innovation at Wendy’s, shared with NBC’s Today Show that this particular dessert flavor was also inspired by a favorite fragrance.

“I normally don’t do this, I’ll usually bring in food props, but I actually brought in something else. This is actually the cologne I wear,” Li said while holding a bottle of Sephora’s Tangerine Boy. “Tangerine Boy is a good example because they know that citrus is something that should be celebrated as a part of spring. We take those same exact elements that people are searching for and put it into food form.”

The new sweet item will launch on Tuesday, March 19 and will replace the Vanilla Frosty for a limited time but don’t worry, the beloved chocolate flavor is not going anywhere. And no word on how long this limited run will last, but if you want to try it, it’s best to act fast so you don’t miss out on the first taste of spring.
