We just recently discussed the battle between Drake and The Weeknd when it came to the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, but it doesn’t end there. The two are pitted against each other plenty when it comes to the Juno Awards.
The Junos are occurring April 3 in Calgary, Alberta, and many big Canadian stars will be at the event. This award show is commonly compared to the Grammys in America, so this is a very huge deal in the Canadian music industry.
The Weeknd leads the way with seven nominations, while Drake has six. They’ll be battling it out in five categories, meaning they both can’t be big winners on the night. Drake’s lone award he is not pitted against The Weeknd is Rap Recording of the Year, while The Weeknd’s two solo nominations are R&B/Soul Recording of the Year and Songwriter of the Year.
