Julianne Hough didn’t hold back when she named the “Dancing with the Stars” winner she “strongly disagreed” with during a recent appearance on “Watch What Happens Live.” When host Andy Cohen posed the question, Hough initially hesitated, but fellow guest, country singer Mickey Guyton, subtly whispered a name while sipping her cocktail.
Hough caught on and excitedly responded, “Oh! I think she has an answer for that!” When Cohen pressed for the name, Guyton revealed it was Bobby Bones.
Hough agreed, saying, “Yeah, I actually agree with you! And I think it’s because of the fanbase, right? It’s all about the fanbase on that show.” She added, “He was not the best dancer.”
Bobby Bones, the radio DJ whose real name is Bobby Estell, won Season 27 of DWTS in 2018 alongside partner Sharna Burgess, despite not being the judges’ top choice throughout the season. His victory was largely attributed to his strong fan support. “I’m not here because of my scores,” Bones said at the time. “I’m here because of my people.”
Hough’s critique carries weight given her deep involvement with the show, having served as a professional dancer, judge, and now cohost alongside Alfonso Ribeiro.
But Hough wasn’t just sharing her dislikes—she also listed her top five favorite contestants: singer Kellie Pickler, “Doctor Strange” star Xochitl Gomez, former NBA player Iman Shumpert, comedian Adam Carolla, and Olympian Apolo Ohno.
