Journey’s co-headlining Summer Stadium Tour with Def Leppard and Steve Miller Band could easily have been named after one of their classic albums, Raised on Radio. Their concert at Phoenix’s Chase Field on Friday, Aug. 23, was a multi-generational celebration of rock hits that thrilled fans from start to finish.
The night kicked off in grand fashion with Steve Miller performing “Swingtown” in a baseball stadium setting, setting the tone for an unforgettable evening. The show wrapped up nearly five hours later with Def Leppard leading a raucous singalong to their iconic hit “Pour Some Sugar on Me.”
Throughout the concert, the audience was treated to a staggering 28 Top 40 hits spanning two decades, from Miller’s “The Joker” to Journey’s timeless anthem “Don’t Stop Believin’,” which has been dubbed “the power ballad that refused to die” by The Guardian. Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott promised fans a night of “Rock of Ages,” and they delivered—proving that rock ‘n’ roll is still alive and kicking after all these years.
