The Jonas Brothers’ “Jonas20: Living the Dream Tour” is getting a dose of reality in six major cities. The trio announced Friday that several highly anticipated stadium shows have been canceled and replaced with smaller venue performances on the same dates.
Fans in Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Detroit, Dallas, Washington, D.C., and the Chicago area were notified via Ticketmaster and the band’s Instagram that original tickets will be refunded and a new presale will begin next week for the revamped shows. Notably, the Sept. 6 concert at Dodger Stadium will now take place at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, a significant capacity downgrade.
The group addressed the change with optimism: “We’re making some venue changes, but rest assured, all performances are still happening… We’re pouring our hearts into making this the best tour we’ve ever done.”
While some stadium dreams are being downsized, the band still plans to open the tour at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium on Aug. 10 and stop at Boston’s Fenway Park on Aug. 23. Their new live album, Live From the O2 Arena, dropped Friday, with a fresh studio album, Greetings From Your Hometown, due Aug. 8 — just in time for the revised tour kickoff.
