In an inspired celebration of Diwali, the Festival of Lights, Johnnie Walker has launched a striking limited-edition Blue Label bottle designed in collaboration with renowned Indian fashion designer Rahul Mishra. As Caribbean American Passport News reports, this release is not only a tribute to the cultural beauty of Diwali but also a bold new chapter in Johnnie Walker’s journey to honor global heritage through exceptional whisky craftsmanship and design.

A Cultural Collaboration

Rahul Mishra, a globally recognized fashion designer known for blending traditional Indian artistry with modern luxury, brings the visual narrative of Diwali to life on this exclusive bottle. His design features floral motifs, golden accents, and intricate detailing that reflect the celebration’s themes of light, renewal, and unity. The bottle and box radiate the elegance and vibrancy of the holiday.

Diwali, also called Deepavali or Deepawali, is the Hindu festival of lights, with variations celebrated in other Indian religions such as Jainism and Sikhism. It symbolises the spiritual victory of Dharma over Adharma, light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. In 2025, Diwali is celebrated on October 20.

The Diwali Limited Edition marks the inaugural release in a new annual cultural series from Johnnie Walker, designed to reflect the brand’s global footprint and inclusive spirit.

Elevated Blue Label Craftsmanship

The whisky housed within this special edition is the acclaimed Johnnie Walker Blue Label, revered for its rarity, depth, and smoothness. Only one in every 10,000 casks is selected for the blend. For this edition, the ABV has been elevated to 46%, delivering a richer and more full-bodied experience while preserving the signature smooth finish Blue Label is known for.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Sweet dried fruits, vanilla, light smoke, and a touch of oak.

Palate: Layers of dark chocolate, hazelnuts, rose petals, sherry, and a gentle citrus zest.

Finish: Long and elegant with notes of sandalwood, soft spice, and lingering smoke.

This edition also includes whiskies from “ghost” distilleries—rare closed sites whose remaining stocks are highly prized for their character and depth.

Art in Presentation

More than a premium spirit, this release is meant to be a collector’s item. The artwork and packaging are designed to evoke the spirit of celebration and serve as a meaningful Diwali gift. The bottle comes in a beautifully designed box, making it ideal for festive gatherings, corporate gifting, or private collections.

Each bottle is individually numbered, and its rarity, combined with its cultural significance, makes it highly desirable for whisky collectors and connoisseurs.

Availability and Distribution

The Johnnie Walker Blue Label Diwali Limited Edition began pre-orders in mid-2025 and is now available in select markets and online across North America, the UK, India, and other regions through luxury liquor retailers. Availability is limited and expected to sell out quickly due to high demand and limited production.

A Toast to Light and Legacy

This Diwali, Johnnie Walker has delivered more than just a fine whisky—it has created a luxurious symbol of celebration and unity. By blending world-class Scotch with meaningful design, the brand honors not only the craftsmanship behind its whisky but also the stories and traditions that bring people together.

According to Diageo in Scotland, producer of the Johnnie Walker brand, “The Johnnie Walker Blue Label Diwali Limited Edition is a luxurious collaboration with acclaimed Indian fashion designer Rahul Mishra, celebrating the Festival of Lights with radiant artistry and exceptional Scotch whisky. Housed in a collector-worthy bottle and box adorned with golden floral motifs and cosmic elements, this edition pays tribute to light, renewal, and tradition—while honoring the exceptional legacy of Johnnie Walker Blue. Inside the limited-edition bottle is the same iconic Blue Label blend, composed of some of the rarest and most exceptional whiskies from Scotland, including casks from long-closed “ghost” distilleries.”
