John Travolta has long been associated with iconic on-screen duets, most famously with Aussie star Olivia Newton-John in Grease. Now, the Hollywood legend has his sights set on another Australian actress—Margot Robbie.
In a recent interview with Australian real estate moguls Shane Spiteri and Kirsty Cunningham for their podcast Beyond the Sale, Travolta, 70, didn’t hesitate when asked about his dream co-star. “Margot Robbie… oh my god, one can only dream,” he said, recalling her role in one of his favorite series, Pan Am.
Robbie, who got her big break in the short-lived drama Pan Am after transitioning from Australian soap Neighbours, has since become one of Hollywood’s leading stars with standout roles in films like The Wolf of Wall Street and Barbie.
Travolta first met Robbie at the Oscars two years ago and shared a humorous moment, asking if she had always wanted to be a flight attendant. “No! I always wanted to be a pilot!” she replied, impressing Travolta, who is a qualified pilot himself.
Travolta also playfully pointed out a historical inaccuracy in Robbie’s film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, further bonding with the actress over their shared love of aviation.
Travolta’s admiration for Robbie only deepens his desire to share the screen with her, as he continues to express his fondness for both her talent and charm.
