John Cale Releases Latest Single Titled, “Night Crawling”

According to consequence.net, John Cale has released his first new music in almost two years. Recently sharing a new single titled, “Night Crawling,” along with a music video for the song. The track was largely inspired by Cale’s friendship with David Bowie, and performed much of the songs instrumentals himself. Cale himself spoke of the song stating, “There was this period around mid-late ’70s when David [Bowie] and I would run into each other in NY, There was plenty of talk about getting some work done but of course we’d end up running the streets, sometimes until we couldn’t keep a thought in our heads, let alone actually get a song together… When I wrote ‘Night Crawling,’ it was a reflective moment of particular times. That kind of NYC that held art in its grip, strong enough to keep it safe and dangerous enough to keep it interesting.” In the music video that can be found on YouTube, you can see an animated David Bowie in a music video that will remind you of a mid-century cartoon. Cale will also be doing a short tour in the UK running from October 23rd until November 11th.
