JetBlue is making a serious effort to make the food in its Mint cabin feel like the reason you booked the ticket.
As Delish reports, the airline just introduced new Mint menus culled from two New York City hot spots: Crown Shy, a popular Michelin-starred establishment known for modern American food, and Birdee, a trendy bakery and cafe. The new menus are available now and will be served across select domestic and transatlantic Mint routes.
JetBlue says its teams worked with the restaurants to adapt the dishes for the realities of eating at altitude, since the food that might work well in a dining room setting doesn’t always survive when prepped for a small tray table, even if it is in first class.
“Whether someone is dining with us in New York City or flying around the world, the goal is always to make them feel genuinely cared for,” said Jassimran Singh, Executive Chef-Partner, Crown Shy and Renata Ameni, Executive Pastry Chef-Partner, Birdee. “We’re grateful for the collaboration with the JetBlue team to create dishes that stay authentic to our restaurants while translating naturally to the experience of dining in the air.
The new menu includes Birdee breakfast options like a strawberries-and-cream croissant, a mochi waffle, and a bacon, egg, and cheese on a Parker House roll with harissa aioli. For lunch and dinner, Crown Shy is behind dishes like chicken with citrus-marinated thigh and hot sauce vinaigrette, pork katsu with hot cherry glaze, razor clam chowder, and sweet potato lasagnette.
Dessert is also part of the plan, with options like chocolate tart, strawberry olive oil shortcake, and a warm chocolate chip cookie from Birdee. Sometimes, all it takes is the power of a good chocolate chip cookie to boost morale.
JetBlue already earned its “second consecutive J.D. Power Award in 2026 for ranking No. 1 in customer satisfaction among first and business class passengers,” and now it seems to be making sure the food isn’t just along for the ride—or in this case, a satisfying flight.
