Jennifer Aniston Pushes Back Against “Selfish Workaholic” Narrative, Shares Deeply Personal Truth

Jennifer Aniston is finally speaking her truth — and she’s not holding back. In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar UK, the 56-year-old actress addressed decades of rumors labeling her “selfish” or a “workaholic” for not having children, revealing a private fertility journey few knew about.

“They didn’t know my story, or what I’d been going through over the past 20 years to try to pursue a family, because I don’t go out there and tell them my medical woes,” she said, pushing against the invasive judgments. “That’s not anybody’s business.”

For years, rumors swirled that her marriage with Brad Pitt ended because she prioritized career over motherhood — a narrative she insists is baseless. Aniston revealed she privately pursued IVF and other methods to conceive, treating the process with guarded discretion until now.

The actress also explained why she originally penned a 2016 op-ed on media pressure, noting she did so not just for herself but for other women facing similar scrutiny. She admitted that while she used to feel compelled to correct false narratives, with time she’s grown more selective: “The news cycle is so fast, it just goes away.”

Aniston’s decision to speak out now feels like an act of self-advocacy — reclaiming her story from rumors and reminding the world that the most profound truths often happen behind closed doors.
