Jelly Roll, the chart-topping country star known for hits like “Need a Favor,” has revealed his highest aspiration: collaborating with the legendary Garth Brooks. Speaking at the 2024 CMA Fest in Nashville, the reigning CMA Awards New Artist of the Year expressed his fervent desire to team up with Brooks, the voice behind iconic tracks like “Friends in Low Places.”
During an interview with Good Morning America, Jelly Roll excitedly listed his dream duet partners, including James Taylor and Miley Cyrus. But it was Brooks who received a special emphasis. “I still wanna record a song with Garth Brooks,” he stated enthusiastically. “I’m still campaigning, like, don’t let my career end without me and Garth getting one in — even if we just sung one together in a show, like, just anything with Garth, you know what I mean?”
Not one to miss his chance, Jelly Roll doubled down, sending a direct message to the country legend: “Garth, we know each other. I love you.”
Reflecting on his approach to achieving his dreams, Jelly Roll added, “You just gotta ask for it, man, that’s what I’ve learned. If you’re just honest with people about what you want, sometimes it happens.”
Jelly Roll is no stranger to successful collaborations. His duet with Lainey Wilson, “Save Me,” climbed to the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 and hit No. 1 on the Country Airplay chart, showcasing his ability to create chart-topping hits alongside fellow artists.
The “Son of a Sinner” singer not only dazzled audiences with his performance at Nissan Stadium during CMA Fest, but he also took on the role of co-host for this year’s CMA Fest special, airing on June 25 on ABC and streaming the following day on Hulu.
As Jelly Roll continues to make waves in the country music scene, his hope for a duet with Garth Brooks remains a testament to his admiration for the genre’s greats and his determination to make his musical dreams a reality. Fans eagerly await to see if this dynamic collaboration will come to fruition, adding yet another milestone to Jelly Roll’s rising career.
