JAY-Z and Beyoncé are in the news this week, but not for what they did on stage during their ‘the On the Run II’ tour, rather for what they did before the bright lights. The two are keeping their word by awarding a few deserving high school seniors $100,000 scholarships in 11 of the cities on the tour this year, by surprising 17-year old Keshawn Morgan with the best news ever.
Keshawn received tickets to the Orlando show, courtesy of the Boys & Girls Club of America. He had never been to any live concert before, so you can imagine how stoked he was during the DJ Khaled opening act – then DJ made the announcement that he has been chosen to receive the scholarship. Let’s just say the future looks bright for Keshawn.
Other sites that will have students chosen for the scholarships include cities San Diego, Santa Clara, Orlando, Atlanta, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Miami, Arlington, Seattle, New Orleans, and Houston. Jay-Z and Beyoncé provide the money, the wiiners are selected by The Boys & Girls Club of America.
