Any new Frosty is a big deal, but the iteration of the frozen treat rumored to be coming out soon may just be the most exciting riff on it yet. We’re talking about a Thin Mint Frosty.
While this one hasn’t been officially confirmed by the Dublin, Ohio-based fast food giant, a litany of sources—including Food & Wine, Delish, New York Post and more—are reporting a rumor that Wendy’s is planning a Thin Mint Frosty release next month.
It appears the speculation started with the snack food-based Instagram account Teamsupernovafb who shared what appears to be a digital Thin Mints Frosty icon, and that it’s supposedly becoming available on Feb. 21. The prolific food-based Instagram account Snackolator chimed in about the possible new treat as well. “I’m crying tears of Thin Mints joy right now because Wendy’s is bringing one of the best looking Frosty flavors ever in February,” they said.
Snackolator added that they aren’t sure “exactly” what the Frosty consists of, but noted their speculation is that it will be either a Chocolate Mint Frosty with Chocolate or Chocolate Mint Swirl, or is a Chocolate or Vanilla Frosty with chocolate mint swirl.
While Wendy’s has not yet confirmed the new Frosty flavor, the odds are good that, at minimum, a new Frosty is around the corner. It would fit into the brand’s semi-regular schedule of updating its flavors. According to Food & Wine, the last update was in November when Wendy’s unveiled the fall Salted Caramel Frosty flavor. And hopefully, we’ll be getting confirmation of another delicious-sounding dessert soon. But if for some reason this all ends up being one cruel joke, you could always head to Wendy’s, pick up a chocolate base, then find your nearest Girl Scouts troop and buy a box of Thin Mints to mix in yourself, which sounds equally as tasty.
