Insomnia Makes a Major Change to its Signature Cookie Recipe

Nothing brings comfort quite like a delivery of warm, fresh-baked cookies. Now, Insomnia is making things a whole lot meltier by revamping its recipe.

As Delish reports, everyone knows the late-night bakery chain’s Chocolate Chunk cookie just hits different, and that’s mainly thanks to its use of chunks rather than chips. To capitalize on this popularity, six of the chain’s fan-favorite cookies are getting a chunky makeover: Cookies ‘n’ Cream, Confetti Deluxe, Chocolate Chunk Brownie, White Chocolate Chunk Macadamia, Peanut Butter Chunk, and Peanut Butter Cup Deluxe are all swapping out their tiny chips for hefty chunks, giving customers a more indulgent bite.

The chocolate chunks are roughly three times the size of the chain’s chips and are being swapped in a one-to-one ratio by weight. This means that there’s not necessarily more chocolate overall, but rather bigger pockets of chocolate throughout the cookies.

Insomnia Cookies has been working on this upgrade for the past six months to ensure that the cookies remain as tasty as the ones you all know and love, now just with a little more oomph. In fact, the company even tested out the products among real customers, and the consensus was clear: chunks > chips.

The new and improved cookies and brownies are already rolling out at locations across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. The company expects the full rollout to be complete by October 1.
