Jimmy Choo‘s first major collaboration of the year might just be its most iconic. The British footwear brand announced a collection with “Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon,” in honor of the beloved animation series’ 30th anniversary.
Inspired by shojo manga (girl’s comics), the made-to-order capsule features a selection of statement footwear and dazzling accessories modeled after key characters — like Sailor Mercury, Sailor Mars, Sailor Jupiter and Sailor Venus, as well as Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon herself and her sidekick, Luna the cat — created by Naoko Takeuchi, reinterpreted by Jimmy Choo’s Sandra Choi.
There are five shoe styles: knee-high Swarovski-studded pink Sailor Moon boots, ruby red Sailor Mars patent pumps, chunky green leather Sailor Jupiter lace-ups, glossy blue Sailor Mercury ankle boots and orange satin Sailor Venus platforms. There’s also a One Varenne Quad miniature purse embellished with black-and-white illustrations of Sailor Moon and her love interest, Tuxedo Kamen.
“Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon is a unique global phenomenon – a manga and anime that resonates, bridging cultures and languages, speaking to different generations and bringing us all together. That’s what drew me to this project,” Choi said, in a press release. “This collaboration underscores our shared values not just of female empowerment, but for fashion’s ability to inspire inclusivity and individuality through personality and self-belief.”
