Hugh Jackman’s Emotional Celebration of Box Office Triumph

Hugh Jackman, the beloved Sydney-born actor, has broken down in tears as he celebrated the success of his latest film, Deadpool & Wolverine. The 55-year-old star was overwhelmed with emotion upon learning that the movie had become the number one film in the world.

In a heartfelt video posted to Twitter on Monday, Jackman is seen reading the news on his phone. Initially, he chuckles to himself before exclaiming, “Oh my god,” as happy tears begin to flow. He tries to swat away the droplets before exhaling a deep sigh, the joy evident on his face.

Jackman also shared the exciting news on Instagram, writing, “Wolverine and Deadpool is the #1 movie in the world. Thank you ALL!” The post included a graphic of his character, Wolverine, laying on a couch looking at a framed image that read, “Number one movie in the world.”

Deadpool & Wolverine has made history, earning AU $10 million at the domestic box office during its opening weekend. It has also grossed AU $668.45 million globally, far exceeding industry expectations and becoming the highest-grossing R-rated weekend opening of all time.

Jackman recently revealed that his children, Oscar and Ava, inspired him to reprise his iconic Marvel superhero role in Deadpool & Wolverine. The actor last portrayed Wolverine in the 2017 film Logan. A conversation with his kids prompted him to reconsider his retirement from the character.

“I had been talking to my kids about, ‘What do you want to do with your life? What is it you want to do if you could do anything?'” Jackman shared with The Daily Telegraph. “And I thought I should ask that of myself: if I could do anything – and I am super lucky in that in many ways I can ask myself that question – what would it be?”

Realizing his deep desire to return as Wolverine, Jackman reached out to his friend and Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds, 47, to accept the offer to appear in the movie. Despite previously declining, he was now ready to embrace the role once more.

Deadpool & Wolverine is the third movie in the action-comedy series featuring Reynolds and marks the tenth time Jackman has played Wolverine. He first took on the role in the 2000 film X-Men and has since appeared in numerous sequels and spin-offs.

Following his split from wife Deborra-Lee Furness last year, Jackman has found solace in his grown-up children, Oscar, 23, and Ava, 18. According to Woman’s Day, the actor has been leaning on his children for support during this challenging time. Friends close to Jackman believe that his strong bond with his kids will help him navigate through this emotional period.

“They know him better than he does and are constantly surprising him,” a close friend told the publication. “They’ve become closer than he could have imagined and he can confide in them, whereas before he’d turn to Deb.”

With the unwavering support of his children and the resounding success of Deadpool & Wolverine, Hugh Jackman continues to inspire and captivate audiences worldwide.
