The 2016 MLB season is here and the first playoff game has been completed, so there’s nothing else we can do but celebrate those who dominated the game this year. Who was the best pitcher? Who was the MVP? Let’s talk MLB awards!
In the National League our winners go Max Scherzer (Cy Young), Kris Bryant (MVP) and Corey Seager (Rookie of the Year). It’s hard to knock any of these players especially Mr. Seager. Seager hit .308 with 26 home runs this season for a rookie, a truly astonishing feat. The best player on the best team, Kris Bryant, makes it easy on us after he posted a .292 average with 39 home runs.
In the American League we are rolling with Zach Britton (Cy Young), Mike Trout (MVP) and Michael Fulmer (Rookie of the Year) as our winners. How can you turn down Britton from this award after posting a .54 ERA?! Did you know he did not blow one save opportunity in 47 tries? Kudos Mr. Britton you were truly amazing in 2016. Mike Trout wins the MVP even though his Angels didn’t make the playoffs. As much as we would love the MVP to be on a team that is among the best, you can’t say no to a man with a .315 batting average, 29 home runs and 30 stolen bases.
