Here are the 7 Trends Vogue Editors Want to See in 2026

Sometimes trends emerge that Vogue editors absolutely abhor. Despite their best efforts to highlight the styles, colors, silhouettes, and accessories that they love, they are often forced to watch as algorithms and well-timed celebrity placements dictate the kind of pieces that make them cringe.

But that doesn’t stop them from dreaming. Here, the Vogue staff weighs in on what they would like to see trend in 2026.

Pillbox Hats

As Pamela Anderson so kindly reminded us earlier this year, this jaunty little chapeau isn’t just for monarchs and first ladies. Though crocheted skullcaps seem to be the headwear du jour, we’d be thrilled to see these ladylike hats come back in full force in 2026.

Everyday Gloves

Who said gloves are only for the opera, or for winter? Mrs. Prada certainly made the case for a statement-making glove on the Prada spring 2026 runway, while Hannah Einbinder brought the look into the real world in a full Khaite look. A pair of colorful, above-the-elbow leather gloves is a fun (and kind of freaky) way to elevate any outfit—plus, for better or for worse, it’ll help keep you off your phone.

Can-Can Boots

Witchy Victorian fashion is on the upswing, and with it we’re hoping to see a lace-up boot revival in the near future. Lady Gaga and Anya Taylor-Joy both hopped aboard the look in 2025, and Seán McGirr sent it down the McQueen runway.

Power Purple

Butter yellow, brat green, tomato red, Barbie pink… we’ve cycled through much of the color wheel in the last few years. Though Pantone is betting big on “Cloud Dancer” white in 2026, we’re hoping that deep, cool purple tones will have their moment in the sun, as Julia Roberts so artfully displayed at the Gotham Awards in her Tom Ford by Haider Ackermann suit.

Brooches

Statement necklaces ruled 2025, but we’re ready to see brooches get a little love. Zhuzh up a button-down or cardigan (as they do on the Chanel runway), or follow Anya Taylor-Joy’s example and affix a brooch front and center at your throat.

Hair Combs

Leave your hair claws at home—we’re comb-maxxing in 2026. The Row caused quite a stir in the office in October when they dropped their latest pre-fall collection, with combs tucked into elegant updos. If your hair has enough length and thickness, we urge you to try it.

Charm-less Bags

While this is more of an absence of a trend, in the last couple of years we’ve seen bag charms become a shortcut to personality. So, please, we beg: No more soulless tchotchkes in 2026! Consider, instead, a bag that comes packed with personality—like the hydrangea-esque Chloé, or an intrecciato Bottega Veneta.
