Heinz Is Dropping 2 Limited-Edition Sauces for Summer 

Move over, ketchup. There are two new flavor-packed options in town. Last week, Heinz announced it’s dropping two limited-edition sauces — a Black Garlic Ranch and Harissa Aioli — to spice up your summer. 

“Last summer, social media was buzzing when we tested our limited-edition ‘sauce drops’ in a few key restaurant chains around the country,” Katie Peterson, director of Heinz innovation at The Kraft Heinz Company, shared in a statement. “Our feed was filled with comments from fans who loved the sauces, as well as those who were clamoring to get their hands on them. Seeing the irrational love the drops generated — particularly Black Garlic Ranch and Harissa Aioli — we knew we had to bring these products to store shelves nationwide so the rest of the country to enjoy them.”

As Food & Wine reports, the sauces are now available across the country in both Walmart and Target stores. And while everyone can enjoy the sauces, Heinz noted that it was “particularly Gen Z” that seemed hungriest for these “internationally inspired flavors.” 

As for what each tastes like, Heinz said the Black Garlic Ranch, sold exclusively at Walmart, is a “unique and smooth experience, combining the mellow, deep flavor of black garlic with the creaminess of ranch,” while the Harizza Aioli, sold exclusively at Target, is “a smoky roasted red pepper blend with flavorful heat and a globally inspired flair.” 

This may also not be the last limited sauce you see from Heinz. The company noted in its press release that it’s utilizing its “Sauce Drops” program to follow customer preferences and is “leveraging Kraft Heinz’s Away from Home arm to test new offerings directly with fans before bringing them to retail.” It added, “The Heinz ‘Sauce Drops’ program utilizes consumer reactions as a real-time insights-generator for the brand as it doubles down on more nuanced flavor profiles and elevated dipping experiences.” So really, you should be utilizing your voice on social media as much as possible to ensure Heinz hears you and creates all the sauces we’re all actually craving. 

By the way, this isn’t the only recent sauce drop Heinz has made lately. In April, Mattel and Heinz UK announced their new partnership with the unveiling of Heinz Classic Barbiecue Sauce, a mix of vegan mayonnaise and barbecue sauce, giving it a distinctly pink hue the doll — and you — will love.
