Halle Berry paid tribute to a landmark role in her career, the title character in 2004’s Catwoman, with a cheeky photoshoot featuring black underwear and two cats.
The 57-year-old actress took to Instagram to celebrate the movie’s 20th anniversary with fans, sharing photos in which she wore the Catwoman eye mask and black stringy underwear while holding one black cat and one black and white cat to her chest. Last month, Berry introduced the two rescue cats, Boots and Coco.
“And STILL… meow! Itβs been 20 years today since I had the honor of bringing this iconic character to life. She will always be close to my heart and I will forever be Patience Phillips aka CATWOMAN!” Berry wrote in the caption.
Berry also spotlighted her two new cats, saying, “Thank you @missjee79! When these black beauties showed up in my yard searching for their mother, Jee helped us through the rescue process. Forever grateful! β₯οΈ.”
Berry posed in a few different ways with the kittens helping out, including a couple of shots lying on her bed with the cats resting on top of her.
Fans and friends couldn’t get enough of the snaps, with Chloe Bailey commenting, “soooo hot ππππ,” while Julianne Moore wrote, “Hello Kitty β€οΈ.”
“20 years where Ms. Berry!? You look phenomenal! πβ€οΈπβ€οΈ,” wrote a fan, while more said, “No one could’ve played that role but you,” and “My favorite Catwoman. Still fine. π₯π₯π₯.”
Others called for a sequel to the film, saying things like, “We need a sequel tbh π±,” and “Part 2 we ready for it β€οΈπ.”
Catwoman premiered in 2004, long after it was first announced in the 1990s. The movie was originally set to star Michelle Pfeiffer, who played the character in Batman Returns, but it was stuck in development for years before Berry was cast. Although the movie didn’t get a great critical reception, it made its mark on pop culture and is still one of Berry’s most memorable roles.
