Green Day Cancels Australian Show Amid Cyclone Alfred Threat

Green Day has canceled the final show of their Australian tour, originally scheduled for March 5 at Cbus Super Stadium in Gold Coast, due to the imminent threat of Tropical Cyclone Alfred. The band announced the cancellation on their Instagram story, stating that the severe weather conditions made it unsafe to proceed with the concert. They expressed disappointment and urged fans to stay safe.

The stadium also released a statement acknowledging fans’ anticipation but emphasized that the safety of attendees, performers, and staff could not be guaranteed under the current conditions. They confirmed that all ticket holders would receive full refunds from Ticketmaster.

Cyclone Alfred is anticipated to be one of the most destructive storms in the region in decades, prompting widespread event cancellations and safety precautions.

Green Day’s next scheduled performance is at Lollapalooza India on March 9. They are also set to headline several U.S. festivals in the spring, including Coachella, Welcome to Rockville, and BottleRock Napa Valley.
