Movies and music often times go hand in hand in telling a story on the silver screen, and we’ve decided to share the best songs from the moves we love. There are so many we’ve also decided to share this list over two days. Here’s part one of the ‘Great Songs on the Silver Screen.’
“To Sir With Love” the Lulu classic song from the Sidney Poitier move of the same name broke all kinds of records and stereotypes in the late 60s, as a young British schoolgirl become infatuated with her teacher. This movie was more than a film, just like the song was more than a radio hit.
Barbra Streisand’s “Evergreen (Love Theme from A Star Is Born)” was not only a Grammy winner, but a classic song from the actress and singer that was the most influential singer of the late 60s and early 70s.
Sandra Dee and Troy Donahue were pivotal stars from Hollywood in the late 50s, and the movie featured “The Theme From ‘A Summer Place'” – Percy Faith And His Orchestra.
