Gorillaz commemorated 25 years of boundary-pushing artistry with a striking residency at London’s Copper Box Arena. Spanning four nights, the performances paired a vivid “Demon Days” live concert with the surreal “House of Kong” exhibition—offering fans both sonic and visual immersion into the virtual band’s enduring legacy.
The show unfolded as a full-album journey through their 2005 masterpiece Demon Days, complete with live choir and string arrangements that added new cinematic weight. Damon Albarn, dressed in a hip-vicar ensemble, guided the audience through haunting renditions of “O Green World,” “Dirty Harry” (with Bootie Brown), and “Feel Good Inc.” (featuring De La Soul), ending in a vividly emotional finale with “Demon Days” layered over powerful stained-glass visual motifs.
Meanwhile, the “House of Kong” exhibition transformed the creative hub of Studio 13 into a walk-through installation—filled with archive sketches, Murdoc’s Winnebago, and surreal soundscapes that feel straight from a fever dream. Fans were immersed in the quirky, chaotic world behind Gorillaz’s creation.
