Givenchy’s The Snatch bag presents itself with a measured confidence, one that unfolds slowly rather than asking for immediate attention, and it reveals its character through form, proportion, and restraint.
The design is the first major handbag introduction since Sarah Burton joined the LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton-owned label as creative director in September 2024. The Snatch draws directly from Burton’s language of ready-to-wear, where garments are shaped by the body and not imposed upon it, and its sculptural lines recall the quiet discipline of tailoring, the cinch of a jacket, the definition of a waist, and the subtle curve of understructure that exists to support rather than display.
Described by the brand as “a study in intimacy” and a balance of “strength and fluidity,” The Snatch has curved forms echoing a cinched jacket, a waistline or the curves of a bra — the latter plays a key role in Burton’s spring 2026 collection for the brand.
As Glass magazine reports, crafted in supple calf grain leather with a naturally tumbled texture, the exterior balances softness with a sense of control, while the interior introduces an intentional contrast through its smooth nappa lining and inside out construction, offering a moment of visual release when the zipper opens and reveals a discreet lunetta detail in a precise flash of color.
The hardware continues this dialogue between organic and defined, as a fluid metal chain connects to angular zipper pullers, and delicate metal feet anchor the silhouette with quiet authority, with finishes available in gold or silver to suit personal preference without altering the bag’s essential character.
Offered in large, medium, and small sizes, and designed to be carried by hand, on the shoulder, or crossbody, the Snatch moves easily between function and expression, while its color palette ranges from black, aubergine, dark brown, and taupe to baby pink, equestrian red, cream, and graphic black and white, reinforcing a sense of balance between permanence and modernity.
