According to cbsnews.com, Prototype Training Systems in Westboro, Massachusetts is a CrossFit space that is empowering young women. According to Joe Black, the coach of Prototype’s Barbell Club, “We don’t really make anyone feel like an outsider and they do a really good job and when we have new people join the team, we make them feel welcomed.” He continued to say that, “They are all around the same age. They are all super friendly with each other. There is a vibe when they get going,” when referring to to the young women that take part in the program. The club has been such a success that just last month, the gym sent seven girls to Las Vegas for the United States Weightlifting National Championships. One member, Mayeesha Ghani, 15 year sold, is quoted in saying that, “This is something that I look forward to. We do it like 3 or 4 times a week and I really look forward to practice and everything.” The clubs ability to build girls self-esteem and confidence is amazing and continues to be seen every day through the efforts that they make in the gym.
