According to tristateomepage.com, girls of all ages hit the outdoors on Saturday afternoon as they took part in activities at Camp Carson in Gibson County, in Indiana. The event was organized by the Girl Scouts of Southwest Indiana and featured multiple events such as archery, canoeing, and a fifty foot alpine climbing tower. The group’s CEO Aimee Stachura said that the event is a good way of showcasing what the Girl Scouts can do and get girls interested in the program. She is also quoted in saying that, “What it really does is get girls back into Girl Scouts at the start of the year, if anybody is interested in learning more about what we do, it allows girls to unleash their inner strength and find out what they really love to do and it allows them to meet their potential out here in the outdoors,” The girls who attended had the chance to learn about science, technology, engineering, and math — as well as entrepreneurship and valuable life skills.
