Swedish heavy metal band Ghost has ascended to the pinnacle of the Billboard 200 for the first time, as their latest studio album Skeletá storms to No. 1 with 86,000 equivalent album units in its debut week. This milestone not only marks the band’s highest-charting album to date, but also delivers the biggest rock debut of 2025.
With an overwhelming 89% of its units from traditional album sales — including a record-breaking 44,000 vinyl copies — Skeletá represents a rare commercial victory for hard rock in a streaming-dominated era. The album also registered Ghost’s best streaming week ever, driven by the success of singles like “Satanized” and “Lachryma.”
The release stands as the first hard rock album to top the Billboard 200 since AC/DC’s Power Up in 2020, and the first No. 1 ever for Ghost’s label, Loma Vista Recordings.
Ghost’s theatrical style and eerie aesthetic have helped them cultivate a global fanbase, and Skeletá cements their place in modern rock history with a hauntingly powerful commercial performance.
