Swedish occult rockers Ghost have canceled the first of three scheduled performances in Mexico City after frontman Tobias Forge fell ill with food poisoning, according to the band’s statement. The cancelled show was set for September 23 at Palacio de los Deportes. Forge’s condition made it impossible for him to perform, prompting the sudden decision.
Meanwhile, Ghost confirmed that the remaining concerts on September 24 and 25 will continue as planned. In their announcement, the band reassured fans that refunds would be processed automatically for online purchases, and that those who bought tickets in person could request refunds beginning September 26 at their original point of purchase. Ghost’s Skeletour—supporting their sixth album, Skeletá—had just wrapped its U.S. leg and now continues its international run.
While the cancellation is a setback, fans remain hopeful Forge recovers swiftly so the remainder of the tour can deliver the theatrical performances Ghost is known for.
