Meghan Markle and Prince Harry (who now apparently prefers to be called just “Harry”) stepped out in London on Thursday, March 5, for the Endeavour Fund Awards looking like straight-up movie stars. It marks Meghan’s first official appearance since announcing her and Harry’s decision to step back as senior members of the royal family in January.
For the occasion, Meghan beamed in a blue, short-sleeve pencil dress by Victoria Beckham paired with a black and white marble-printed clutch by Stella McCartney, according to Meghan’s Mirror. Meghan is seemingly a fan of Victoria Beckham, as she’s worn many of her dresses and coats in the past while tending to official royal duties. The fashion mogul, along with husband David Beckham, also attended Meghan and Prince Harry’s wedding in 2018.
On her feet, Meghan wore navy suede Manolo Blahnik heels (a staple of hers) and small, but chunky gold hoops.
Although it was raining, the duchess kept her hair and makeup in check under an umbrella. She sported a low, sleek pony tail with her signature center part, smokey eyeshadow and a sheer red lip gloss. The bold red lip was also a departure from the typical demure royal look.
The couple was all smiles as they made their way to the event, which honors the achievements of wounded, injured and sick service members who had achieved major sporting and adventure challenges over the last year. Meghan gave out the Celebrating Excellence award.
The event is one of the royal couple’s final duties as the official Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Their last official appearance as senior members will be at the Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey with the queen and the rest of the royal family on March 9. After that, they’ll be closing their office in Buckingham Palace and living part-time in North America, but they’ll continue to support the causes they care about.
“The Duke’s priorities remain supporting the welfare of servicemen and women, conservation, sport for social development, HIV, and Travalyst which works to mobilize the tourism and travel industry for social good,” a spokesperson told Town & Country. “For The Duchess, her focus remains women’s empowerment, gender equality and education.”
