Gene Simmons Sells Beverly Hills Mansion — But Only to the Right Kind of Buyer

Gene Simmons may have spent decades rocking stadiums with Kiss, but when it came time to part ways with his Beverly Hills mansion, he wasn’t about to let just anyone move in — especially not “alcoholics.”

The 75-year-old rocker recently sold his architect-designed, four-bedroom, five-bathroom home for a jaw-dropping $28 million — twice its original $14 million asking price. But before handing over the keys, Simmons made one thing clear: he wasn’t selling to party animals.

“No drugs, no alcoholics. I don’t want anybody coming in there who is going to destroy the place,” Simmons told The Wall Street Journal. “You have such wonderful times there, you don’t want some schmuck in the place you call home.”

The lavish estate, which includes a 40-foot infinity pool, gallery space, home theatre, and ocean views from the upper bedroom, was a labor of love for Simmons and wife Shannon Tweed Simmons, 68.

Despite his rock-and-roll roots, Simmons maintains a clean lifestyle — and expected the same from potential buyers. “It’s not just a house,” he said, “It’s part of your life’s story.”

In the end, the sale aligned with his values — and his wallet.
