Geddy Lee About to Publish the Consummate Book on the Bass

There can’t be that many books about the rock and roll bass, but Rush co-founder and world-renowned bassist Geddy Lee is such a fan of the instrument that he’s writing a book about the bass. ‘Geddy Lee’s Big Beautiful Book of Bass’ will be published on December 4th featuring stories, descriptive details of famous bass players, and more about hundreds of rare basses. The book will also have rare interviews with some of the best that have ever picked up the bass.

This book is not a lark, rather a painstaking labor of love that has taken years of Geddy’s time and resources, perhaps giving him a reason to show off the bountiful number of basses he’s collected over 40 years. Interviewed in the book are well-known bassists like Robert Trujillo of Metallica, John Paul Jones, U2’s Adam Clayton and Bill Wyman

Rush bandmate Alex Lifeson provides the book’s foreword. Look for ‘Geddy Lee’s Big Beautiful Book of Bass’ in early December.
